Completing Commissioning and Site Acceptance Test on new HH-102AC

We are glad to announce that on 8th December, in the city of Hengelo in the Netherlands, Drillmec’s team has started Rig Up, Commissioning and Site Acceptance Test of the HH-102AC Drillmec rig delivered to the new Dutch client Nouryon.
The rig delivered to Nouryon presents a unique configuration designed in accordance with the latest HH innovations and in compliance with EU directives and with the challenging project’s requirements. The rig will be used for drilling, workover and P&A activities for chemicals mining. It will be operated by Nouryon in the Hengelo in urban areas in a context where noise emissions have to be reduced to the minimum, with the target of fast mobilization from one site to the next within a few days and to be suitable to operate within narrow and variable jobsite locations where concrete is not allowed and in a very inconsistent soil.
This rig’s model has therefore the highest level of mobility thanks to a skid mounted standalone Hydraulic Power Unit which is powered by AC motors instead of standard diesel engines and installed at ground level inside a container with top of the line soundproofing standards able to grant a maximum noise emission of 75 dB at 1 m of distance.
The standalone HPU solution grants footprint flexibility, reduces the weight distribution and, especially, reduces the trailer mounted rig unit transport dimensions and weight to a regular load with the possibility of being moved on EU roads without transit permits.
The rig’s unit is equipped with the latest model of Drillmec Driller Cyber Chair and with a special Tubing Tong controlled by the main control panel and designed for a combined utilization of Tubings/Drill Pipes/Drill Collars/Casings.
We are confident that this new configuration shall be adopted by the operators as the ideal solution for shallow oil & gas well, geothermal wells, workover and P&A unit and shall consolidate Drillmec’s HH-Series brand awareness in the global market.
